Hi all, I know I already have lots on the go but what can I say, I'm a glutton for punishment.
This looks to be a really nice kit and I'm looking forward to the challenge

Here is another update, it must be obvious by now I know nothing about subs but I must say it looks like a well detailed kit.

Got to the bit where you put the hull halves together, what a nightmare you need 6 pairs of hands there is so much to align up all at the same time there will be several gaps therefore loads of filler and masking and respraying, it was all going so well.

Hi all nearly done just the rear stabilizers and props then get my head round the proper weathering of a sub (Not sure how to do algae will have to do some googling)

Lovely build Ken. It taught me lots about internal layout and how many reloads the class carried and how! I assume the torpedoes were held back while the lowest in the racks were slid into the tubes or there would have been lots of clanking and the like for enemy hydrophones to pick up :((
As for small scale algae, you could try using model railway flock (sponge type not sawdust type) to build up your layers of growth. Mind you, you could add a small amount of fine sawdust in the mix to recreate crud and barnacles!
I am not sure how much infestation submarines got?
