Title: Black Lurg on wires

Any ideas how to shift the black lurg from wires

If you mean a black gunky build up on the plastic sleeves of wires, I use soap and water to wet a cloth. If the connections are all sound I wrap the cloth round the wire, squeeze with my fingers and pull the wire through, and repeat several times. I just avoid getting components wet. You could also use white spirit, and gentle rubbing if things are more fragile.


If you mean something else, please elaborate.

If it is inside the plastic vables and on the wire itself strip it out and start again
