Title: Youtube sans ads

For two weeks now everything I view on Youtube has been covered in ads, at the start, and if its a long video 2 and sometimes 3 or 4 ads during the video. Now I've found this pretty annoying until today. Now today I am also getting pop ups asking me to sign up for the 'ad free' version of Youtube! Its free for the first 3 months, but I wonder what you will be expected to pay after that?


Even more so, the average uploader of Youtube (those that don't make a living from it) won't get a penny in return, it all goes to Youtube. Just another social media platform that has hooked its users and now expects them to pay up front.

Do a search for 'Youtube ad blocker'. There are even videos on how to achieve this.

YouTube ads are very prolific but not usually that bad ...  I think you may have been infected with malware or a virus!   {:-{

( NB: There is 'YouTube RED' but that's $10  per month. Not sure if it's reached the UK yet.  )

I think the problem is this computer. On my own I run AdBlock + and have no trouble at all. But since the keyboard accident with my laptop and waiting for parts, I've been using my wife's to get online and she has nothing on hers except a virus/malware blocker.

Get a copy of ADWCleaner - https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/ - and give it a run.  It is surprising what it chucks out.  And it's free.

It is worth noting that Youtube Premium is also streaming TV shows to compete with Netflix etc.
It is more than Youtube sans ads.
