Like it says on the Amazon page, 'Perfect for the collector', but of little practical use in the real world.

I was given on of these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002RIFL2/ref=sspa_dk_detail_0?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B0002RIFL2&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=1713835751726239774&pf_rd_r=MHZQ9JA0BVBVDTC1PS2P&pd_rd_wg=9u9kC&pf_rd_s=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_t=40701&pd_rd_w=1WRck&pf_rd_i=desktop-dp-sims&pd_rd_r=b7734c11-8637-11e8-aafc-3933c5359799 as a going away present from a place 20 years ago. It is really useful, but it just too expensive to want to carry around with me. Like many people I have lost several working knives, which is why I never buy expensive ones. A lanyard would help, but I carry enough of the stuff needed for day to day anyway.

This is my favourite. Worn out three in my working life.

I find the rivets fail on all these folding types - and always when it will be most painful.

Agree 100% Martin, I always keep mine on my keyring and it comes in useful every day. The scissors are especially handy.
I'm not sure if the steel is quite as good as it used to be though.

I was once asked this question at a model show many years ago and the answer I gave was not what the person expected. You can have the most expensive set tools in the world but if your eyes do not send information to the brain and the brain does not send information to the hands then tools are   just something to sit on the bench.

A Swiss Army credit card size tool kit fits nicely in a wallet and is about as much in the way of tools that should be needed at the pool.  If I need that to play boats, I've done something wrong.  If I need more that that, it's time and incentive to get it right for next time.
In with the other stuff, it has a mini ball point pen.  Not only are the Swiss Army the best groomed fighting force in the world, they can write home to their mums.
Don't know if they are legal or not to get through airport security in hand luggage.

Technically, if the blade is less than three inches long it should be OK in hand luggage but I have never put it to the test, it always goes into the hold in my case. If a security guard takes a dislike to it then you've lost it. I suspect airports will differ on how strict they are. In Cairo last year there were three separate security checks before they would let us on the plane. It was quite reassuring.

Anything made by 'Perma-grit' tools, yes expensive but highly recommended (especially large aluminium sanding blocks),
the grit stays razor sharp for many years.

My modelling/DIY skills improved, gaining a higher level of finish and accuracy after buying Perma-grit blocks and files,
I would be lost without them.

Yesterday's decorating/DIY - used my aluminium sanding block to adjust mitred angles on delicate
Kraft paper skinned polystyrene ceiling coving, the blocks rigidity and sharpness enabled sanding this strange modern product
to a beautiful crisp edge without tearing the paper surface - wonderful kit !

Ideal for the diffficult job of shaping model boat hull hardwood chine/deck stringers -
again the sharpness slicing through spruce etc very easily.

I have a little razor saw and mitre box. Also a small hand vice for holding fiddly bits when shaping.
