Ahh, history, it has 'politically incorrect' running through it like a stick of rock %)
-
How is that politically incorrect?
-
Whitewashing history is apparently more acceptable these days. Don't get me started on swastikas on scale models, let's just pretend it wasn't a thing, that's the grown up thing to do....

How is that politically incorrect?
Think of the feelings of the French
-
What about the Spanish, don't forget them..we kicked their arses too! Ohh, sorry, send me on a course quick!!
-
That's why the new Spanish & French navy subs have glass bottoms so they can get a good look at the old Spanish & French navies..
-
How is that politically incorrect?
I wondered that, Phil…….
I say sod to political correctness because if you can't speak your mind, what did our forefathers give their lives in countless wars for to protect freedom and free speech...
bahhh humbug... <*< .too much political correctness...…….they'll be wanting Mother Christmas NEXT. >>:-( <:(

Within three years, the Spanish were on the winning side anyway. And the vast majority of us get on very well with our French cousins today.

you'll be telling us next that we can't glorify the poppy and all those who fought for us in the two world wars because it upsets some people...……...I despair of those that think by glorifying our own sacrifices we are upsetting others and shouldn't do so. >>:-( <*< <:( <:(

I can see absolutely nothing politically incorrect in the NMM's website. Cheeky? Maybe, but the French and Spanish have had 213 years to get over it. Troops from the young nation of Australia were slaughtered by the Turks at Gallipoli in 1915, and we don't hold a grudge against the Turkish people. It is the irony, and futility of war that we can travel to, and feel safe in, countries such as Germany, Italy, and Japan, whereas 70 odd years ago we were at war with them. Here in Australia, we celebrate Anzac Day on 25th April every year. On this day we don't glorify war, but we honour those who fought and died in, not only WW1, but all wars in which our troops have been involved. At the end of the day, we can't change history, but hopefully we can learn from it.
