I would have posted this in the Youtube section, but it deserves to be seen by everyone!
A 32 cylinder V motor in banks of 8 not too sure how it could be described as I've never seen this configuration before! I would dearly love to see the machining that went into these parts, they are outstanding, then towards the end when he balances 4 coins on the top while it is running flat out, just wow!.....

Yes, superb model engineering. I think it was built by a Spanish guy, he named the motor "Patelo", and the coins look like euro cents.

The King Lear Club had that same clip showing on their screen at the Warwick Show at the weekend. It's really MIND boggling, not only the workmanship but the fact that he actually thought it up the first place! :-))

Its a "W" engine, any motor with 2 banks angled from a common shaft is a "V", 3 or 4 is a "W". But 32 cylinders is a LOT.

there are not enough superlatives in Christendom to describe the beauty of that engine...…………….

I don't know what all the fuss is about he obviously just nocked it up over the weekend LOL
-
I know the Americans fitted Sherman M4A4s with chrylser multibank diesels, but these just used six cylinder heads! That is beautiful, and while I would love to hear it fired up, I appreciate that would tarnish the work. I wonder how powerful it would be though?

Did'nt the Deltic loco had a engine something like this.

The Deltic was triangular-- https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=deltic+engine&oq=Deltic&aqs=chrome.2.69i57j0l5.11585j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

Ah that's it I new it was different ,thanks John
The Russian diesel electric I worked on that was also different it had a con rod to the crank journal and a con rod off a con rod
thanks again John

I have seen the video before and it is astounding work.Unfortuneately I feel it is designed to only ever run on compressed air.Due to the small bores their is little or now room in the design for glow plugs or spark plugs. There are one or two manufactures that produce and sell working V8 engines almost as small as this but you could buy a new BMW for a similar amount of money to what they cost.

Nigel
Write up on this engine https://macsmotorcitygarage.com/patelos-latest-miniature-masterpiece-a-w32-engine/

Have to agree with you there Nigel!

And even then they are probably not making much money unless the parts are CNC machined which would reduce costs considerably.
