bought this off a chap in a pub in Fleetwood two nights ago for a 100 sobs...
...but I just can't get it to fly...

Just cut off one foot, most Drones only have four arms. If you cut off the wrong leg you'll walk round in circles forever!

no one seems to know who made it....but there is a stamp on the bottom ..gnusmas that I can see through a mirror...

Neil I specifically told you under NO circumstances do you fly that darned thing over Liverpool......just look at what they have done after you landed they have stolen your rotors....next thing will be the wheels

Well we have found out at LAST who was flying his drone at Gatwick and downed all the flights....it was NEIL

Whoever it is is not a moron. It is being very cleverly done which suggests something more sinister. The drone or drones need to be regularly recharged and are being sent over the airport to cause maximum disruption. I live quite near Gatwick and the surrounding countryside is very rural so trying to track down a launching site is going to be really difficult. They are presumably operating on the 2.4 Ghz band so identifying the control signal could be almost impossible. If they are using standard commercial R/C kit then it would be 'full range' which means that the operator will be somewhere in the vicinity but if the drone is fitted with telemetry then the operator need not have to keep it in sight.
Must be a nightmare for the security people. Hopefully the army have something that will bring the things down

To the west of Gatwick around Charlwood their are many areas of woodland and some are at a level which give an elevated view over the main runway.
this is the area I would be looking . Unfortunately their are also properties on these areas. In fact the Russ Hill Hotel is only 2Km from the end of the runway and is 170 ft above the runway with a clear view of it.

Are drones any worse than a flock of Canada Geese ? We get these regularly at certain times of the year and we are on one of the glide approaches to Heathrow. Gatwick has always had a big bird problem %% and employ a bod to go and fire a few blank cartridges, never sure it was totally effective.
