Hi, I have a Shearline tube but it has some parts missing and some parts need replacing, I will try and upload photos but it might not let me, if someone can help me it will be much appreciated.

Not sure on the present status of Sheerline submarines. Chris Cloke, the proprietor used to post on here, but hasn't appeared for a while now.
Many of the parts were custom made, so if Sheerline can no longer supply, you may be faced with either adapting alternative parts, looking secondhand, or making some yourself.

Hi
Have a word with Ron at R&R model engineering, www.rcsubs.co.uk (http://www.rcsubs.co.uk)

Unlikely to be anything from Ron’s modules that’s transferable to a Sheerline module, very different designs.
Ron would be happy to sell you a new module I’m sure.
Would be helpful to know what parts of the cylinder are missing.

I would need a new pump, a new set of seals, and the valve system to surface the submarine and a new end plate where the pump is

The seals are often in need of replacent on older Sheerline modules. Sadly they are a custom made item, it’s a shame Sheerline didn’t use o-rings like everyone else, but I guess they had their reasons, and they work well enough when in good condition. I honk the original seals were moulded, but you could possibly cut your own from some rubber sheet with a sharp scalpel. An end cap should be easy to make for anyone with a lathe.
Pump is a commercial item. Pinch valve is easily. made, as it’s just a cam on a servo pinching a piece of rubber hose.

Some useful ideas on pinch valves from various folk (including photo of an actual Sheerline, courtesy of "Grimreaper"!) over here:

Good to see a Sheerline being "re-furbed". A good, reliable sub in my view.

Thanks and I don’t know a lot about submarines to be honest
-
Are you able to post some pictures of the items that need refurbishment or replacement? What is wrong with the endcap, btw?

I will try to the last time I tried to put photos up the site didn’t t let me

remember there is an upload limit. use a photo resize programme.

I find photofiltre is great for general image tweaks, including reducing image size and quality to compress the bytes used. It's free to download and use. http://photofiltre.free.fr/frames_en.htm
