Title: Royal Navy Colours in 125ml tins
Post by: James Duff on December 09, 2018, 11:47:41 am
We have started offering our paints in 125ml tins aimed at large scale and radio controlled modellers. These are both more convenient for larger paint jobs as well as offering a significant saving against an equivalent quantity in our usual 14ml tins.  :-)

Hi Mark,

We can offer (within a couple of days' lead time) 125ml tins in any of our colours which we have bulk stock already prepared so if you have something large in mind, just email us to ask and we can let you know quickly whether we can turn it around quickly or whether it needs bulk remanufacture first. We have bulk stock of approximately one third of our total colour range (which is one of the larger model paint ranges)

We have made stock items of our RN 1936-1950s Home Fleet Grey (Admiralty Pattern 507A and 507B) and our RN Anti-fouling Red so far and these can be ordered without having to interact with us! They will be rolled out gradually under the same listings as the 14ml tins we already make. The customer just needs to choose the size before adding to the shopping cart:

I would just like to say what a brilliant service provided by Sovereign Hobbies. I bought some 14ml tinlets of corticene on Tuesday evening and they arrived yesterday afternoon. I bought it for my superstructure deck of my HMS Invincible so I’m a very happy chappy that I can paint it tomorrow morning ready for this weekend at Deans Marine. Excellent  :-))

This is good service and certainly something that all companies worth their salt aspire to.

But: Remember that all small businesses are very often at the edge of their efficiency and it only takes the smallest nudge to put them into longer despatch times. Support your small businesses and remember that unlike Amazon et al, they neither 'drop ship' trade, nor hold tens of thousands of an item in stock, and may not have a staff to process orders.

Things need ordering in, or making or re-designing/upgrading to get the best product, and this can delay delivery times. As long as a company keeps their customers informed, and the general customer base abreast of news all but the daftest and most unreasonable person will be happy with a reasonable delivery time and fair treatment.

Big tins of accurate paint sounds like a Christmas present in their own right!!!
