Wanting to do one of them myself!!! GWR just pre war from 1938 to 1945.

There are specialist railway model mags, and forums. I would also hit those for their classifieds section.

I have mine stored in some Maplin Ali cases, waiting to be redesigned and built, a collection of engines that havn't run for at least 10 years, so it will be an experience getting it up and running, whilst recently watching that series on channel 4/5 (can't remember which) I looked at the redesign then got bored, also looking for second hand stock was also expensive.

One of our members was getting fed up with model boats and decided to go in for N gauge, he got such a shock at what he got for £90 he changed his mind and stuck with the boats, expensive,yes and getting more so. nemesis

A friend of mine trying to retire has got into 'N' gauge. He is the least technical person I know and he is having fun learning about digital control with two separate trains on the same track. Also sound effects. Train sets have moved on since I were a lad!

Hi it's John V n gauge trains is a expensive hobby I have eleven engines and they were over £100 pound each before you start thinking about track and buildings .I have loads of stuff that I have collected over the years .but if it's one of your hobbies  like me you don't know when to stop cheers John V

Hi just looked at the latest German tank loco for my HO scale layout came in at 5p under £400 railways aren't cheap boats are the best value for your £  Bill....

What era?   Mine is era 1 Prussian

I had to give up buying rolling stock many years ago and none of mine are electronic which seems to be another considerable expense if you have several locos.

Hi Brian I don’t have a particular era I run anything that takes my fancy that’s era 3-5 at the moment including an Austrian goods and passenger set going to the big show at York next week and hopping to pick up a Kpev T12 And a set of coaches Bill...

The T12 and its carriages were the first KPEV set that I bought many years ago and what started me into Prussian railways.   The colour scheme really caught my imagination.

I'm starting to do some research on N gauge trains. I'm reading the PECO booklets and some magazines. Expensive, but looks like fun and you don't have to go out and find suitable water to play with trains!

My current project, a 1920s model liner is to 1:150 scale which is effectively N Gauge so I am hoping to pick up some passengers although they seem a bit expensive painted!

Thanks for that Klunk. I did run a web search but that particular site didn't come up - or I missed it.

I recently called in to the Gaugemaster shop near Arundel as I was passing. Amazed at the stuff they have in there and even more staggered at some of the prices!

100 (or thereabouts) little people turned up today!

They will need repainting but can't complain about the price. I won't need them all.

I bought a pack of these a few months back - they are OK from a distance.............of about a mile!!!!!


Quality is usual Chinese, I will leave it there.


I wouldnt use them on my boats or my model railway.............sorry.

Yes Carl, you do get what you pay for but I expect I can tweak some of them for my 1:150 scale liner to look adequate. I can't afford a couple of quid of each individual.
