Hello.
I'm just wondering where you chaps source your "bits" from for boat builds.
I.e I need things like Cargo nets, oil drums, tyres etc, all in 1:16 scale.
Don't really have a clue where I'd go to get some of these things.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks
Steve

SHG do a variety of tyres, nets - look at fruit nets etc. Oil drums at 1/16 I made my own.

Can you tell me who SHG are?
Also, any chance that you can pass on a desription of how you make the barrels?
Thanks

There are very few figures @ 1:16 in plastic kits and what they are are mainly ww2 German.
There are however dolls house figures at that scale which you might be able to adapt .Probably best to do a Google search. O0

Steve,
SHG Model Supplies, 01785840308, www.shgmodels.com email info@shgmodels.com
they do tyres 12.5 20,25,35,50mm which is 20cm(8"approx) to 80cm(31"approx) at 1/16 scale
Thinking on I got some net from Model Slipway for my fishing boat - worth a try.
The Oil drum I turned (first attempt) on a electric drill attachment I acquired. (Turns your drill into a basic lathe)
It doesn't stand too close a scrutiny on the camera but looks ok on my fishing boat O0
Cheers

RE scramble nets.
Go to the sports store. and look at some of the sports nets. E.G. Badminton net, table tennis. I think the Basketball hoop net will be too large.
You could also try to make your own. http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=9795.0
this thread might help.
