Title: Lobster boats in Plymouth Harbor
Post by: chum444 on June 01, 2019, 01:38:25 am
I was in Plymouth on Wednesday so of course I went down to the harbor. Some lobster boat pictures. 1. Cape Islander for offshore lobstering. Compare its beam to a near shore boat rafted alongside.
 2. Bow on view.

Some more photos. 1. Starboard view of the Cape Islander with it' distinctive broken shear line. 2. Gearing up for the beginning of the season trap set. 2. Traps aboard. Note the cutout stern made popular by the Maine lobstermen.Since lobster boats do not have to often back down, the low freeboard transom is not a problem.

I hope to visit Gloucester, Massachusetts next year. Visit the museum, among other things.
