Title: 10R or A Class
Post by: rickles23 on June 21, 2019, 11:01:52 am
Hi,

I have been given this hull and I would like to know what Class it is.

Also what keel would it have?

Hello

The length is the same as for a Marblehead yacht.
Rather an odd shaped Hull !.
There would have been a Lead bulb along the bottom of the Keel.
Have a search for Marblehead yachts, see if one looks like yours !!.

Hi, I bow to Jaydees expertise, it looks a little chubby, could it be an 8 metre class?  Especially as it looks quite a shallow draft.

Hello,

According to the Web, an 8 Metre boat is only 40 inches long.
Never seen one !!!!!!!.

Hi, This is proving to be a long chase.

I received these emails:

1/ This is a very old moulding and probably not too many would be able to help you. I have found details of a 48" yacht called a USA Canterbury J RC yacht. Details can be found on the sites shown below..
This is not a class that is sailed in competitions here (to my knowledge) and was probably built for a personal choice or for possible development in Aust if there was enough interest.

2/ This is not one of my Nottingham hulls, or a Canterbury so I can't help.

So back to the 6 and 8 Metre Class.
