Title: Convert from RC planes
Post by: GrahamD on June 24, 2019, 06:30:19 pm
Due to age and a heart attack in January, I have now changed direction from flying high to sailing low, lol.

As I sell each plane I own, I'm replacing them with boats I want and will be proud to both tinker with and sail.

Heres just a couple I now have in my ever growing fleet (also have Clyde puffer I built some years ago, and Ark Models VIIC sub I'm building, along with Italeri Vosper MTB kit I'm converting).

All I need now is somewhere to sail them, lol

hi Graham, your area us a bit vague! it would help with your nearest big town.  you have Stevenage, luton, hemel, Northampton, 2  islands, wicksteed, etc. it will also depend if you want ice boats as well!

Boats, particularly slow boats have a distinct advantage over airplanes.  In the rare instance when you crash/bump something with a boat the damage is usually minimal.  When you crash an airplane, get a broom and sweep it up.  I been on both sides of that.   <:(

Hi Graham and welcome.

Love the DHB Doughty and what scale is she? I'm currently pulling together bits for a 1:25 version. This will be my first boat build in some 30 plus years as I also have been building and re-kitting model aircraft. {-)

regards
Ant

Nice job she is too. My office overlooks (about 1/4 mile away) the DHB tugs. So I watch them play on a daily basis.
