Hello
Does anyone know where I might find the plans to build this vintage tug
Any help would be appreciated
-
Were there plans?
I built one as a kid - or at least my dad did & I helped - and as I remember it came with preshaped lumps of balsa that you glued together & then just did cosmetic shaping. You might well have got instructions but plans?

A quick search found this which you have probably already read:

There's a page on the modelboats magazine website which shows a pic of the drawings I think. Not plans, more like assembly diags as per mention in post above.

As said above, the Titan tug kit only came with assembly drawings - I built one myself.
However you could build something very similar by using the Bustler tug plan designed by Vic Smeed. It is a simple build and everything you need to know is on the plan.

The blurb says it is based on a Canadian tug but that isn't correct. It is a typical old British steam tug and very attractive. You can see some examples of the model and the plans here:

Obviously the suggested motor is well out of date but a 280 brushed type should work fine.

I've still got my Veron Titan Tug - it has been electric, then mamod steam, now lengthened and deepened and converted to a paddle tug driven by a battery electric screwdriver. Charming little thing.

Hi Tobyker
Thanks for responding to my post question when you did the redesign did you draw up a set of plans for the hull
do you have any pictures of the model you could post Thanks
-
I have a copy (pdf) of the "plan". While this shows the assembly of pre-shaped blocks as mentioned above, it does have deck plans and side elevation giving the actual shape of the hull - if you don't mind having to scale from the drawing. PM me your email if you are still interested and I can send it to you.
