Title: Deck Hatch Patch Material And Adhesive
Post by: Tobermory on June 29, 2019, 07:46:54 pm

Water is leaking in through a deck hatch patch cover of my Fiesta.

What material should I use to replace the patch? And what adhesive should I use to bond it to the deck, please?

I use the roll from the pound shop.

Remove all the deck patches,go to the Range,B&Q and get yourself a meter of Fablon cut up your deck patches peel back and fix NO need for ANY GLUE,or get in touch with Nylet or House martin sails and they will charge you and arm and a leg for the proper stuff....I have used Fablon for years on my 1 mtr and have never had any water go in...cheap and cheerful

After you've stuck the Fablon on a gentle warm with a hair dryer will stretch it taught and leave it looking nice and neat.  Great thing about Fablon is the choice of finishes available - anyone fancy a tartan deck?

Thank you for the advice. - Best I could think of was linen and dope.

So I will now be making a trip to my local Homebase or Wilko for a roll of Fablon / d-c-Fix and then finish the fitting with a gentle blow from the hairdryer..
