Title: Building 'Tiny Tim' - Billings Zeeland Tug
Post by: Le Ken on September 30, 2019, 03:11:17 pm
Hello everyone,
Im just getting into model boat building and have been given a Billings Zeeland Tug kit. So I thought I would share the build with you all and perhaps you would be kind enough to give me hints and tips along the way.

I spent a lot of time viewing the plans and reading the manual...and its true 'time spent reccing is never wasted'.
The kit I got has had all the parts cut off the main boards so its a bit like doing a jigsaw as well!

So I decided to start on the hull and fitting the keel. I have added extra bits of strengthening to the rudder base socket and to the propeller support. I also coated the whole thing with Xpoxy to keep the wooden parts waterproof and hopefully strengthen them.

That's a good positive start. Good luck with the build  :-)

Regards,
Ray.
