So its not a toy but its my new play thing {-)
Its new truck week for me and this ones beautiful so I thought I'd put a few pictures up :-))

Hey Mark.....good to see your Nuts are in check {-)
Is it an automatic?....do you have any hills in the UK {-) ..that need a gear stick.......if not auto......how many FWD gears?
We have a local fleet of similar shaped Scania 870's....hauling coal in B-Doubles from over the mountain to the Port of Kembla for export...[similar?.....although I am pretty sure they have 10 rims & tyres on the prime mover]
870......that's a lot of hordes of horses

We don't have anything like that in the UK the most you need here really is a 500. Anything else is a waste unless your into specialist haulage then the go up to 730 - 750 at most. A unit like that costs about £150k - £180k depending on the spec and makes it difficult to turn a profit on the truck.
870's though - I bet its tricky to get traction if you give it a boot full :o

Apologies Mark.........the B Double Scanias here are indeed 730 HP.............I think the image of 870 was when looking in the rear vision mirror when one of these B-doubles monsters was chasing me up-hill >>:-( & the image was naturally in-versed or reversed
I was in the left of the double left lane.......all I wanted to do was let him overtake me @ ~~~90 kmh in an 80kmh zone when I was sitting or hovering at ~~78 kmh as I have no interest >>:-( in getting a speeding ticket

Hi Derek - Some of them are over 750 but they retain the same 16 litre engine. They just chip the onboard computer to up the horse power. The engines can take it no problem. Mind you to have a truck chipped costs about £2500 - £4000 %% I was told on Friday that they are thinking about chipping my new truck up to 450hp - we'll see!

Hi NickelBelter thats the ones mate. I admire anyone who can drive those trucks. They keep the running gear is so basic for reliability I think but they are so antiquated compared to what we run. And how you cope with those winters is admirable - keep safe

Due to the really bad weather last week I didn't get many chances to take any pictures. Here's a couple that I got at about 4am down at the docks. Not the best but it gives you and idea of what is a relatively small load.

Hullo Mark... a few things.....
1. our vehicle distribution in OZ is also by the WW people
2. interesting that the Scania fog lights appear to be set for a South Hampton Pea Souper with such a short a short drop down focal length

Hi Derek WW are the worlds largest car shipper as far as I know. Two of the cars on this load are heading to Australia and the others are for China and the USA. The front lights aren’t really fog lights as such they are puddle lights that just illuminate the floor a bit closer to the truck other than the main lights

Well Mark, I am sure the Scania vehicles imported to OZ have these fitted as standard, however not used as we don't have 'puddles of water' simply because we don't have any rain.........in fact I understand we are about to commence importing 'puddles of water' from the Far East
With respect to the two vehicles on the front top........they are probably just a few spare Landies for your Bosses husband to flog around in ...in the Grounds of Windsor Castle %) ....[as even in OZ we have seen that he has a reputation of flipping them]

Aren't "puddle lights" in normal parlance those fitted to the underside of doors, kits or standard to enable you to get in the door in a dim light rather than nothing. My merc has them, ther're pretty std kits now. Derek, don't know whether it's coincidence or not but your very dark and grainy image with the red lines seems to pick up on lens flair more than anything else?

....however, if not it explains why in a pea souper it explains why I always seem to end up with an hgv 4' off the back of my car rather than keeping back!!!!!!

I must admit that I didn't know the term of 'puddle lights' & yes Mr Goggle depicts them as projector lamps in the door bottom sills & most display a lighted image reflected onto water pudddles of the vehicle logo
So again, not much good in OZ, <*< as currently we don't have any rain & only dust on the ground.......not even a glistening moist green grassy patch...but a few days ago, Melbourne had a Total Fire Ban in the morning, then in the afternoon a hail storm with ice balls large enough to smash a Range Rover windscreen...[the Landie wasn't flipped so was probably not parked by HRP Phil in his usual style]

Melbourne had it's usual 17 degrees and occasional showers.
It was somewhere in Queensland (as per my earlier post) that got the hail and a lot of insurance claims. Our time will come, probably in January. {:-{
