Another power query please.
I have a set of 4 that power the FlySky TX for my yachts, they are a few months old an have been recharged about 10 times.
Being a classic muppet I forgot to pick it up from the bank and luckily for me was picked up and stored in the club house at some point. Not sure if it got wet, probably did?
It was left switched on. The Tx fired up seemingly ok with fresh batteries.
My question concerns the seeming inability of the batteries to charge beyond .80 volts, Charger is an older LLoytron, I have a Uniross 1 hr ultimate on it's way.
Your observations and comments would be appreciated, thank you.

Today, evn older chargers can be "smart". The Lloytron might be one. "Smart" chargers lose their smartness when presented with an overly discharged battery. I would just use a "dumb" charger for a day or two. If that doesn't work, the batteries are too far gone. No actual experience wit eneloops.

I am a little sceptical as I would have ditched the old battery with the personal opinion that it will never be like new again.

I think most of us have over discharged batteries at some time, I certainly have. And yes, it's easy to bring them back to life, I've done that too. What I never do is trust my models to dodgy batteries, they take a long time to make and I won't risk them for a few Quid's worth of new ones. The revived cells go in remotes, torches etc.

Hi Chas Malcolm, I have had this happen as many others must have. A bit of dumb charging works well. However just because I have over discharged a cell and brought it back, for me this has not made it a dodgy cell. I just bring them back into use as per the rest. I have not seen any fall off in performance so they have stayed in their 'makers sets' if you know what I mean.
When I have a suspect cell I charge it up and then do a very quick short circuit check using a meter on max amps. Anything under 3 amps is what I would now think of as on its way out, but this is more of a power capacity test. It does show that this cell if part of a group or battery will go down first so is not worth keeping. I have other mundane uses for these cells.
