Title: liquid chrome pencils

Can anyone give me any tips in respect of  preparation for, and use of Molotow chrome pencils?
Are Humbrol Metalcote, J. Perkins Gild Chrome etc. any better?
I'm only interested in hand applied finishes.

The Molotow ones seem to be the best but still need a bit of practice. Also a good idea to get a small and a wide nib to make application easier. I bought a 1mm and a 4mm.

You may find they take longer to dry than you expect.

The J Perkins Guild Chrome has a very effective chrome finish applied with a brush. I have yet to test it in outdoor conditions. It does come off easily 24 hours after application with a brush loaded with white spirit. I have a test piece which is about four weeks hard, so will try the same test when I am in the same room as it on Monday!

I have a few of the "pens" / markers. Heed previous advice on drying time, I did the same in terms of have a thick and thin one. Practice plenty and gave a look at the Glynn guest post on markers.  They're quite a good indistinguishable match for revell brushed aluminium  in some shades which helps draw and match areas.
