My plan is to use the 6 volt unit in my 1/200 HMHS Britannic (aka Trumpeter 1/200 titanic )
On a tangent: What are the main, observable, difference between Titanic & Britannic?
-
Martin,
I found some out and thought this one was a joke...
The Britannic was being built as war broke so they requisitioned her as a hospital ship because of this they
Had to fit a small structure at the stern... it was a mortuary :o
Number of Lifeboats and electric operated davits were also a big difference
-
Martin,
The main differences from the outside,
additional life boats and there electric davits
Stern had raised deck and additional superstructure, quarter deck spanned all the way across to the Main deck level,
A pair of the stern cranes were raised up.
See attached my help more. I know some of the purist out there will know more changes. But my build is just for fun not a 100% reproduction.

Are these the electric davits?....... they're huge!

Yes and they are, there are five sets, it was planned she was to have 6 or 7 but only had 5 fitted.

Reconstructions of the sinking. The first one is inaccurate and over dramatised, the second is an impressive graphical documentary.
