An historic salmon troller I recently completed.

Good catch, but one looks like it's getting away. :embarrassed:

Nice Bill!

Thanks J.

Not my interest / style of build but I did watch your thread over on rcgroups!
"Trollers" always fascinate me in terms of words. Such complete difference in meanings compare to proper English "trawlers"!

Definitely a west coast North America term. On the east coast it is “trawler” as I believe it is in the south.

LoL, no a "troller" in the UK is usually something entirely different over here!. A troller is a truly horrible social media / forum person of the worst type. An on-line stalker! Hence it always intrigues me one word means 2 completely different things sometimes! Nevertheless, you should post the link to the build. I just tried looking back and can't find it to copy over to here.Rich

We do use the word 'trawler' over here and it means the same thing. "Trollling" uses lines with hooks, sort of like longlining, whereas 'trawling' uses nets and is often called 'dragging' in North America. Most salmon netting is done with purse seines.

Interesting distinction. Thanks for posting it. Of course in today’s social media &, as RST points out, troll has yet another definition.

Rich,
No build log here. I’ll post a state-side link if you like or send you a PM with the link.
