Hi,
I am currently building a Victorian 26 foot steam launch from scratch. This is my first attempt at model boat making and after a steep learning curve I have finally finished the plank on frame hull. Could some one please advise how I make and assemble the rudder and steering mechanism. I have a template for the rudder blade.
Many Thanks

Hi, just to save questions and jumping the gun. You're going to need to try and upload some pics or the drawing I think.

Hi bomber as rich says nobody can advise on the rudder without knowing the profile of the stern,
A photo of the boat you based your model on would be helpful.

This might help. ..??

Thanks all for your replays,. I did not make my request very clear I intend to make the launch RC so need information on the mechanism from the rudder to the servo. Also if someone could advise on a suitable RC system it would only need to operate the rudder and forward and reverse on the steam engine.
Thanks

hi ya Bomer
if you have a look in the Masterclass section at the Spashett build

this may just help you in your quest for details about rudder making and fitting :-))
Also, I have just purchased a Flysky 6 channel set (for roughly £50 off Ebay) which consists of basic transmitter at 2.4 Ghz and also a 6 channel receiver. Sadly no servos - but they are cheap enough from Ebay as well - but, be careful I have just bought 4 (supposedly Futaba) servos - but they are obviously a Chinese knock-off as they have the same colour coding leads as Hitech and the same plug.
But, up to now - doing the job quite well - so for £14 for 4 servos I am not complaining :-)
