I normally decant a lot of my paints from rattle cans, usual with no issue's, but, I need to use some etch primer, can I decant thus stuff and put through my airbrush.

That is a expensive way to get paint, considering how little the quantity of paint that is in a rattle can. nemesis

yes gentleman, the reason for decanting the etch primer is i find when spraying from the can on to a small piece of a model i see a lot of paint just disappear into the air, as im going to paint some brass stations and other quite small tubes i think using my air brush might be less wasteful ;)

Don't know how you do it but I shake the can as normal then put some cling film over a small glass jar and then put a bendy straw over the opening on the can even better if you can find a top with a little white spout on it maybe off something else always keep mine just for this purpose pushing the other end though the cling film into the jar works for me but never done etching primer but cant see why not.

Decanting rattlecan paint into an airbrush cup, or occasionally a pot just for brush painting is quite common in hobbies and SFX for just the reason just given, in that an airbrush will give the user much more control than a aerosol will. Rattlecans are great for large areas, as you can squirt away making sure you do not dwell over an area and cause runs, or spray too far away and cause orange peel etc.
I agree that rattlecan paint isn't always as good as say Tamiya or Alclad, but Ken (KP Nuts) got some really good results with Pound land aerosols.

I am going to be Decanting a paint can. The reason . Can not get it in small tins. 5L at £45 is the smallest . or £ for a 400ml spray can . I need about 300 ml or less.
As to Decant there are two ways . You Tube has a lot of great vid .

Just a little bit off the subject but i have just used Wilco spray cans for the first time with excellent results
have used Halfords in the past but found Wilco's very user friendly. any one else used them?
