Grace, shovel nosed hydros are a bit niche to say the least. Which shops and clubs did you try also?.  I'd imagine there's not many folk running them that could give good answers. There is another thread with one. But just a picture of a near -enough perfect example. Sorry nobody posted back directly. Looking back at your posts I thought you wanted a drop in the water RTR boat though? And it's only been a week or so, so maybe my BUMP might help

This is an unusual model in the UK ( hydros are not very popular here... ) so not many people ( if any ) on this Forum have built it.
No one wants to give you a 'bum steer' so hang in there, someone will help you, ( but can't do it all for you ).
... not everything on the internet is Instagram!

HI Grace

Offshore electrics forum in America would be the best place to go for info as they are into hydro boats big time.

Hello,
I am not sure if it is too late to reply to you, but I have only just seen this post.

I have one of these boats (acquired second hand without any electronics fitted). As another post noted, I think it is an Amati kit.

I found space for the motor was very limited so I ended up fitting an Mtroniks 1100KV brushless motor and G2 Hydra15 ESC. I use an Overlander 3S 2200mAh LiPo battery. This gives good performance, but I had a lot of problems with steering using the "scale" rudder. I have replaced this with a much larger rudder extending well below the prop which has cured the problem.

Hi Peter

Maybe useful for someone else in the future but given the lack of acknowledgement of the help that some folks gave I feel that your response may have fallen on deaf ears as far as the OP is concerned.

Any video of yours on the water would be interesting.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your message. I do have a couple of short videos, but they are currently very large MP4 files. I will see if I can change the format and reduce the file size to something that might be suitable to post.
