Title: Fitting a new motor to my old lobster boat

Just a quick question. How long have your motors lasted in your models? Well the motor fitted in my lobster boat has managed to power my model for thirty years but it is now very tired and needs to be replaced. Before you ask no I have not fitted a brushlees but in keeping with the age of the model a new brushed motor is now fitted. This should good for many more years service. Not sure I will be around  in thirty years time to renew it again. Picture one and two the model from which the old motor was removed. Final picture the motor the on in top of the picture is the old one.

Can't match 30 years but my Brittany fishing boat has done 20 and still going strong  :-))

Well I tested the new motor last Sunday and what a total disappointment. Running on 7.4 volts you could have fried an egg on the motor case. So the old motor was stripped down and cleaned thoroughly finally a quick squirt of WD 40. New power cables fitted it now purrs like a cat and it is reinstalled.
