Bonjour,
Here is a copy of a 120 years old German tugboat which used to operate on the Rhine river. Originality of my model, the two paddle wheels are independant, thanks to two twin oscillating steam machines, so she can rotate on herself : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLmOZyA-yKQ (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLmOZyA-yKQ)

Raphael.......
We see just a glimpse of a large Nylon reduction gear & 1x cylinder [horizontal plane?] if possible, could you please post some good images of the twin engine setup.......& boiler etc., too %)
The radio control of each engine [speed + fwd/reverse] function would also be interesting O0

Bonjour Derek,
Here is a video of the machine : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnXPs3sGdN8 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnXPs3sGdN8)
About the radio, 4 channels are enough because I have not yet RC a safety gas valve :
- one vertical channel for each machine left / right (oscillating ==> Reverse / Neutral / Forward needs only one)
- right horizontal channel for the rudder
- left horizontal channel for the whistle
We changed the initial reduction gears, made with old brass clock gears (!) because the wheels werenoisy and mostly too fast.

A steam powered Paddle Tug. This has to be the pinnacle in model boats! The sort of thing I dream of but would never be able to produce.

Bonjour John,
I fully agree with you, steam paddle tug boats have a great presence on the water.
As you liked my Pilat, I hope you will like my Glasgow steam tug (enhanced Graupner kit ) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_ZwIiZKMGk (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_ZwIiZKMGk) and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojEwUjFWxs4 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojEwUjFWxs4)
And, even if it is not a tug, I hope you will appreciate the smoothness of my Gulnare : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAS-lBPp87c (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAS-lBPp87c) and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAS-lBPp87c (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAS-lBPp87c)
Or more funny (do you know the Lucky Luke comic?) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLmfGD9T75I (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLmfGD9T75I)
