Title: Trawler hull 1949
Post by: PICKETBOAT on January 31, 2021, 01:17:18 pm
Hi guys

I've been asked to build a static model of this vessel. The model will be for a desk top and will not be super detailed, but I would like to get the hull shape and lines something like. Can anyone suggest a source or even supply a set of hull lines please. I'm happy to reimburse sensible costs.

We are both fine but I have put the ship models to one side for the last few years as I am now addicted to prewar cars and have a growing collection, well three anyway.

You will see me again pond side when all this covid thing is sorted, honest.

I have only recently been asked about building this fishing boat model and have just started making enquiries. Who is Bill Woods and how do I contact him?

Good to hear from you.

Steve

Many thanks for this and so prompt a reply too.

This seems a pretty close match on the hull and also solves the problem of locating and identifying all the deck detail.
I'm just at the point of quoting a price to the customer for building the model and deciding size and scale. I can build in the cost of the plans (not a big expense) when I draw up the quote.
I am sure the hull will be carved from the solid and the scale will be about 1/32nd. I will keep you posted.

Many thanks again. Thanks also to Model Boat Mayhem. A great resource and a great community.

Bill Wood in Aberdeen should have a mould and plan set for this type of boat ( he normally charges around £60+postage )
