Hiya Canabus, I just use 2 x standard 540 brushed motors in my 'Neddy'.
Sufficient power with plenty in reserve. Runs for a whole sailing session and motors only warm on completion.
I did have the full size plan but sent them on to another modeller.
Regards,
Ray.

Hi Ray
I have two 540 rock crawler motors 80 Turn which on a 2S lipo run 5,500 rpm(unloaded).
I can change to 3S which would up the rpm's to 9000.
I can easily cut back the total throttle power on my Flysky I6.
One of these motor run my Eileen and Hellen fishing boat on 60% throttle with 60mm 3 blade props.
Hope to post some pics tomorrow as the boat only requires a few bits regluing and small areas repainted.

I have two 12 volt T4 motors from Mobile Marine Models (https://www.mobilemarinemodels.com) in my Lady "T" they are Hi torque - low rev with a max of 6,400 rpm,

My model runs very smoothly on two 555 12v motors and has the standard Billings props supplied for it.
-
Hi dodes
This one had 45mm brass props.
What weight did you boat end up at ???
Harry
-
Not that heavy, used a bit of lead, most weight was the battery a 12v 12amp. I am 71 with a back back, but the model I can lift in and out no problem and I have down to the design waterline.

Hi dodes
I am the same age !!!

I forgot to say I fitted the battery in, screwed the deck down. But made the forward superstructure separate so that I could lift it off and on to switch the electrics on and off but also charge the battery insitu

You are welcome to my build blog Coastal range ex-Smit-tug (https://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,53761.msg555161.html#msg555161)
It is a Smit Nederland build with some modifications to simulate her sister Smit Ierland, now Delfi (Rauma, Finland) IMO7800502
I have scanned the Billings directions (not very precise, to be sure) and can send those by PM.
My motors are brushed 540 + gearbox ratio 6:1
12 V lead battery

But I am not a good reference point, as I have never sailed, yet :embarrassed:
cheers, Hande

Hi Canabus, took the opportunity today to take of the working deck insert to get the battery out for charge for the coming season. You asked about weights. I have a lstic container fitted between the shafts and that holds 797 grammes of lead strips, in the moulding space for the hull skeg I have 326 grammes off lead. Under the deck aft near the rudder post two clumps of lead weighing 176 grammes each, plus a 12v 12amp battery under the upperworks. The upperworks as I have mentioned is seperate from the deck insert and fits to a square combing to allow battery charging and switching on and off.

Hi dodes
I have run to boat and I will be taming down the motors because they are a bit too powerful !!!
Turning is a total blast, in it's owe length !!!
I have a leak in the shaft tubes which since found where only glue around the tops on the inside of the hull.
I rough up around the shafts and added fibreglass filler.
Hope this fixes the problem.

Well the leaks are fix and the boat likes doing donuts, well maybe it's me !!!
The only problem is water from the deck going down between that and the liftout section !!
I would have built in a sealing into that area !!!

Hi Deepstar
I am using 540 brush motors 80 Turn with two 60Amp ESCs, one on 2S 5000mah and the second on a 2S 4000mah Lipo.
I though if the 4000 gives out, I can get back to shore with the 5000 mah.

All the best Bill, I might get down to the club this year if I ever get one of my builds finished {-)

That would be good, Large fleet of Seawinds on Tuesdays, Ketches on Thursdays and the new Dragon class on Sundays, all well attended. If we have 4 or 5 scale boats on the water we are lucky, so hurry up, oh what an incentive. bill
