It will probably be repeated but Talking Pictures TV had what appeared to be a recruiting film for the RAF made about 1934. It was amazing how the planes and the people came across as being a throwback and how much changed only 5 years later. What caught me especially was 10 minutes dealing with flight from carriers, specifically HMS Furious. Could be an amazing model methinks!

Hi I missed it by 50 minutes and apparently it is not scheduled for broadcast in foreseeable future.
However I did watch the Edgar Lustgarten crime programme Scales of Justice which followed.

Ah, Edgar Lustgarten......that accent! His voice almost captured the same feeling of dread as Hitchcock!

If you know the date it was shown, you can watch often previous TPTV films online... https://youriplayer.co.uk/talking-pictures/ (https://youriplayer.co.uk/talking-pictures/)

Hi Kinmel I found the site but failed to find the film RAF even under The RAF. Any ideas?

Wrong "Talking Pictures". Freeview Channel 81, you know, the vintage film channel not the BBC documentary. Sorry if there's any confusion.
-
Hi good point as the newest date was 13.2.21

Believe me - like the smithonerous {-) channel - it will be repeated, as are most of the films, IWM etc, it might just take a month or two.

Hi I was looking on the London Live, channel. I have not worked out how to get Freeview on my TV. It is a Sony Bravia KD49XH9505BH. It is just 3 months old I have a Set top box from Virgin and that is how I watch.
Previously I had a Panasonic TV and with the single aerial lead from the virgin box I had both Freeview and Cable. I think there has to be an i/p via digital but I can't work out how! I have watched videos on installation but they are mainly from USA. Richer Sounds normally very helpful were not understanding the problem.
It would be useful if only to have an alternative i/p if cable was down.
Any advice welcome!

Hi Kinmel, thanks very much it now works fine on Freeview.
I am not sure where I went wrong last time as I kept getting no signal, I think it was finger trouble on my part.
Always get an answer on Mayhem!
all the best

Hi Tony you don't know whether to laugh or cry! 18 hours in the air! Brave lads all, did their job when they had no choice in the matter. Much to be learned from that for later generations,
Hope he made it back to mum.

Hi Kinmel further to Sony TV.
I bought a dongle to give Internet connection. I set it up and connected it into the ethernet socket on the TV but the channel to get into it has a very limited choice on line, I was hoping for You tube. I get this on my new Sony set.
Not the end of the world but it is in a nice room which I can make as much noise in as I want!
Regards
Roy
