Title: Alternative to Hi Tec HS-485 servo
Post by: peterpan on March 07, 2021, 06:13:14 pm
Hi All
The rudder servo recommended for my current schooner "Annie" build on the American plans is a HiTec HS-485 HB.
I cant find any in stock in the UK. Can anyone recommend an alternative equivalent servo ?

Not to technical please just want something similar spec that is available in UK

Many ThanksPeter

Steve Webb models (Servo Shop) has the Hitec D485HW in stock virtually identical specifications. Same size, slightly faster and higher torque, main difference is it accepts voltages from 4.8V to 8.4V. Slightly more expensive but not that much. (£17.99 each)

From the spec, its just a fairly high torque standard size servo.  Any of the many on the market with the same or better specification will do the job.  In adverts, just look for "high torque" and check the dimensions.
