good afternoon everyone
does anyone do a larger scale kit of a cruse liner say 1/72 or 1/96,
i am aware that linkspan do some nice ferries and Deans marine do the St Orlaf, is there any others please

in Short no. That due to the Size . 200m ship at 1/72=2.72m and 1/96=2.08m.
I think Billing did a Hurtigruten Cruise ferry many years ago. Long out of production.
For a big passanger ship. Linkspan Norland about the bigest you will get.

yes i have pretty well come to the same conclusion, that 1/96 will be the biggest i will get as a kit, but i also saw that Fleetscale do a 1/72 empress hull and fittings pack the hull is over 8 feet
i dont seam to find many Linkspan build logs

Tim Amos at Southern Cross Models does a 1/72 "Bremen" passenger ship. It is 1590mm long 236mm beam. Looks pretty nice on the photographs on his web page.

There is only a very small market for these larger models. It is no accident that working model kits usually fit across the back seat of the average family car. In fact Model Slipway made that one of their design criteria to facilitate transportation. Another factor is shipping, if the box won't fit on an international cargo pallet then the rate increases considerably which can add a lot to the cost of purchasing the kit.

agreed, lol im still looking for one though, i dont one to scratch one, someone suggested converting the St Orlaf by Deans or modifying a Linspan, but for now the Amerigo is on the Table, it will regardless be a static
