My late great grandfathers boat we used to sail together. Hasent be sailed since he died 10 years ago.
Hoping to take it out soon. Its really old. I cant remember if he made in in 1992 or 1982?
It's a billings boat kit. Its twin prop and runs on a 6v sealed battery, the radio gear runs on crystals.
..... huge sentimental value.

Hi Martin,
Some photo`s of my Tamar Lifeboat that won First in the kit class at Haydock Park 2015.
It has a Model Boats magazine on the dashboard,
" So it is a model of a real Tamar Lifeboat with an article in Model Boats magazine
of how to build a model of a Tamar Lifeboat."

As I was looking through my archives, I thought about asking if the attached photograph would be good enough for photograph of the month posting.
Photo 1 is a repeat of what was posted in the forum thread
Photo 2 is a higher resolution photograph of the tug after it was converted to electric and the paddle box vents were modified to fan pattern.
Photos 3, 4, 5 and 6 are just other selected from the archive.
Photo 6 shows the wash produced by the paddle tug.
Thanks,

Revell Flower class corvette Snowberry 1/72 restarted
https://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,67483.msg738345.html#msg738345
I just enjoyed a kind of scale realism on the water of my Snowberry moored at buoys as seen below.
It was calm ,sometime windy on the water today and a pair of mooring buoys did a nice job as expected even under windy time. :-))
Using these buoys,I could enjoy model boating only seeing the ship, while I take a rest on a chair with a cup of tea.
I think it is much interesting to moor the ships not in operation rather than to get them on the boat cradle on the land. %%
Therefore, I intend to carry them whenever I go for model boating from now on.!! :-))
Boating site and test of mooring for today are as follows;
I was impressed with two dogs together with a young couple of boaters and the dogs were sitting on the boats very seriously beside their masters!! It was a happy day today as usual.!! :-)) - Backerther

Hi Martin,
I don't know if the 'shocking' moment of capsizing is worth for a photo of the month.
I was standing bare foot on a stone wall out in sea when my wife turned 'the other right'.
No chance to be there in time so as a photo freak I continued taking shots.
There was only one breaking wave, usually save I didn't have but 'the other right' in calculation....
So my wife doesn't touch a remote control anymore since then .... and when I showed the image
in a German forum, many wanted to meet and congratulate her, for the moment, which doesn't come on photo so often.
Nevertheless, we're still married and because the North Sea test was too early (the deck wasn't fully sealed),
I lost just the controller after two times capsizing.
The boat (my first fully self built one), is still running as you can see on the night photos.
Best regards,
Joerg

So unterhielt jede Marine umfangreiche

From Facebook:
The tugboat ‘America’ was built in 1897 for service on the Great Lakes. Over time, her steam engine
was removed in favor of diesel and her profile was altered somewhat. However, incredibly, she is still moving
the big boats around at the Port of Monroe in Michigan and is the oldest commercially operating tug in the world.
My scratch-made model depicts her early in her long life. Kirk Brust.

This evening the company MMG (Mecklenburger Metallguss GmbH) has rented our event area on deck 10. Even if you don’t know the company, you are probably familiar with their work. The history of the company can be followed back to 1875, in the production of metallic parts for mechanical engineering. After World War II, the company became more and more specialised in shipbuilding parts, and most of all propellers. The production of propellers of over 80 tonnes has been their core business. They have produced the blades that set ships like the Queen Mary 2 in motion, but also container ships like those of the Emma-Maersk-class or the Colombo-Express-class of Hapag Lloyd.
MMG asked us if we have a model of a ship, they have made the propeller for, and we could lend it for their event. That is why the original yard model of the Bremen Express (part of the Colombo-Express-class) in a scale of 1:200 has left its usual position beside our ship handling simulator on deck 1, to be on deck 10 for an evening.
The Bremen Express was built in 2008 at the Hyundai Heavy Industries shipyard in Ulsan, Republic of Korea, for the Hapag Lloyd AG. She was the seventh sister of a class of 8 container carriers with a capacity for 8749 TEU (standard containers). The ships were all built by the same shipyard between 2004 and 2008 and are all still in service today. None of them has been sold or renamed. Six further ships of the class had been ordered, but they were cancelled to build the units of the larger Hamburg-Express-class (13200 TEU).
The ships are 356,5 m long and 43 m wide, powered by a MAN diesel engine of the type 12K98ME with 46907 hp. Their top speed is 25 knots. They are operated by a crew of 24.
