Hi Everyone
Does anyone know where I can get some really decent, well made tweezers that last? I've had so many pairs but they always seem to bend which is probably my fault for squeezing them too hard. The best set I've got are some Tamiya straight ones which I've had for ages. They are really strong and extremely well made so I want some more like this. Any advice to save me buying any more dud's would be much appreciated O0

Look online for medical tweezers disposable and non disposable. Thedisposable will have good working faces and be cheap and a large bag would be a shareable lifetime supply. The price of the non disposable will be high. It may be worth searching for Tamiya.

Hi Mark still plodding on with the radio exam stuff. The tweezer's I us are all medical quality the one you grip to keep closed have a pin in one side that comes through a hole and pricks you if gripped to tight ,the other pair grip to open are also medical grade ,just had a quick look on Amazon for ideas plenty choice . The stainless steel will not let solder stick to them which is good the plastic melts that's bad .

Hi Mark, from another midlander -
'Proops Brothers' Fleckney Leicester were/are my local go-to stockists before Covid struck - if they are still in buisness?
they attended model engineering exhibitions selling tweezers etc along with the likes of Chronos, Shesto and Blackgates,
or Axminster Nuneaton.
Guessing the above may have been the suppliers of your rubbery dud's, a thought - have you tried forseps?
much stronger and available in all manner of weird and wonderful styles, with useful clamping facilities.
Downside I suspect the top quality geniune medical grade you're looking for will be expensive, if available to the general public.

Be aware medical grade tweezers may not offer electrostatic protection.

Hi justboatonic - cheers for the reply but I don't know what that means? Is this something that I need to worry about? - Mark

Have a look at crocodile forceps - https://www.ebay.co.uk/b/Alligator-Forceps-Forceps-Hemostats-Needle-Holders/19327/bn_7037774053 (https://www.ebay.co.uk/b/Alligator-Forceps-Forceps-Hemostats-Needle-Holders/19327/bn_7037774053) - great for delicate work, particularly rigging.

Thanks for pointing these out :-)) - thats another thing to buy %% My missus is going to kill me {-)

If you are interested in forceps, for very fiddly work I use locking forceps. Especially useful for rigging. They allow me to reposition my grip, twiddle the forceps, or even put them down for a moment, without the wire or thread falling out of the grips.
-
Hi tigertiger - I use these one's too :-)) Great for loads of different jobs even clamping small parts whilst the glue dries
