Yes you may have seen some shots of this on the water over the years. While adding further ballast today I was shocked  to see the date the model was finished August 1998 coming up for 23 years. I have take some close up shots hope you enjoy.

Not quite,Launched September 1943 and Sold December 1973 for scrap OR for $171,111.91.http://www.navsource.org/archives/05/594.htm

Cripes! No wonder the class suffered from capsizing with all that tophamper! She's a lovely boat Stan with oodles of detail.

Actually, the class was quite stable. The Spence is the only one to have capsized and that occurred during a Typhoon. The Captain delayed taking on ballast water due to his low fuel state, and when he did, it was too late. Beautiful job on a square bridge!
