Title: New sanding sticks
Post by: Stan on September 15, 2021, 04:10:21 pm
Hi  I have just bought both sets of these sanding sticks. Yes they are for the plastic kit market but could be used in model boat building ideal for a great finish on plastic card. They retail at £11 99 for 36 pads and are available from creative Models  based in the uk
Stan. :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))

.......  "£11 99 for 36 pads     ..- 33 pennies each."  %) ....wouldn't 180 or even to 800 Grit tear the cripes  <*< out of plastic card surface? ....

Just seen the  MTS-042 box contents goes to a Metric scaled 2500 Grit size.......Derek

Hi I have used the fine set on plastic card with no problems. Yes the first set  do have some  lower grades but if you are up to speed on paper grades you will use accordingly. In terms of costs nothing is cheap any more I recently bought a pack of four sheets of wet and dry at £6  £1.50 a sheet.

Agreed Stan...nothing is cheap, however in OZ, we buy the standard [all grades] of  flexovit WD sheets for $1.05 at Bunnings

This is  about £0.55 per sheet

The foam celled sticks would I assume be a little more rigid & would wash off without the usual tearing of W&D paper
