Hi,
This is my first post to this forum.
My parents used to have a beach hut on Calshot shore opposite Cows , Isle of Wight. Every 11 Am and 9 pm
we used to see the Thoresen Vikings go and return from France. I'd love to build a model of the 60's Vikings.
Does any one know where I can find the Plans or Hull Lines of the 60's Vikings ?
I found some low resolution plans here:
http://www.hhvferry.com/vikingi.html (http://www.hhvferry.com/vikingi.html)
and a drawing here:

But understand a magazine called "The Motor Ship" did publish a cross section of Viking 1 at one time. Again I have a low resolution shot from the book "Remembering The Thoresen Vikings".
Are there copies of The Motor Ship available anywhere ?
Interesting to note that the Viking III is still running as the STAR N in the Black Sea as can be seen on marinetraffic.com
I have built my self a 3D printer and made various models but no ships to date. I use Blender to create the 3D models.

Welcome to the forum,
As a kid, I used to regularly travel to France with my parents on those lovely Thoresen Viking ships and have wanted to make a model of one for some time. I may be able to help you. I've sent you a PM.

"Are there copies of The Motor Ship available anywhere ?"
Try the Bodleian library in Oxford, little known fact, they keep copies of all publications.

Hi, you could try emailing the publisher? I saw a contact on their website. There are old copies on eBay but don't know which one it might be. Publisher might be able to narrow it down? Quite a slim chance but never know.

If you are a patient chap, J-P and I may be able to help you out.
Now that Covid is (hopefully) receding, we at Linkspan Models are looking to get back into production and the Viking I / II / III is on the cards for development as a kit.

I think the Green is too dark, should be light lime.

Yes - The green is way too dark.
And that is an eye-watering price for a model too!!!
