Has anyone done the Billings Waveney lifeboat or the US coastguard equivalent ?
I would be interested to know which part of the deck they made removable, to be able to get at the innards and keep it dry insiide.

Hi,
I made that one as the lifeboat - twin motors, servo, esc, rx, battery = v tight fit!
I glued the raised part of the foredeck to the wheelhouse and made that all removeable. Also, the rear 'cabin' I made removeable - its tight but it works.

Hi DD,
I built the RNLI version some years ago now but found that once I'd shoehorned everything into the model I found that the freeboard was minimal to say the least and it could only be sailed on flat calm water. I used servo motors for the drives and geared them down which made hell of a racket. Consequently, I decided to retire the model from "active service", put it in a display case, added lights and a coin mechanism and donated to the local RNLI branch as collection box.
Terry.

Here are pics of mine, instructions were poor to say the least. I changed the props to prop shop ones. Runs better, but its only a fair weather toy.
