Does anybody have a way of taking the covering off coated copper wire.

Or if you are stripping a long run of the wire a sharp knife will remove longer strips of the insulation.

I use a bit of emery cloth to take the coating off.
If its just a short length, or the ends for soldering.

Do you mean lacquered wire? Acetone might do it or tinternet says heating above 400 degrees (candle flame). Or just Emery paper or scraping with a blade. I don't think the wire strippers above will do it.
