God morning all !
I just bought this (says) Stuart and I wonder if the engine is one Stuart.
The boiler is a 502 , that's for sure but the engine , but the engine with this sliding piston stem guide, I don't know.o I would appreciate if someone has an idea of the brand of this engine.
A lot of work to do to restaure it but I like it.
Thanks for your help !
Regards.

I don't think it is a Stuart. Could be a Reeves Trojan engine.
-
Not a Trojan, Trojan has two 1/8" dia. guide rods one each of piston rod. Base however looks like a casting used on Trojan.

Hello !
Thanks for your help.
Apparently, it is a : 1949 Trojan MK 1 design E T Westbury
The lateral piston guide came first then came the round sleeve.
That's what I found out but confirmation would be appreciated.
Best regards.

The MK1 trojan has the two pins to guide the crosshead. The later redesigned MK2 has a trunk guide . The MK2 was done by J P Bertinat
The build is available as a free download on the Model Engineer Site
No idea as to the original question although Stuarts have designed similar engines in the past
cheers
