Title: Profile Models Of Norfolk Broads 1930s Hunters Fleet
Post by: River Model Guy on November 01, 2021, 08:47:49 pm
Hi All,

Thought i would do something a little different from my norm of scale radio model Broads Craft.

Flat profile models of the Famous Hunters Fleet of the 1930s golden era, Based at Ludham on the Norfolk Broads.

I have used Mahogany, Walnut and Spruce veeners of the timbers used in the real craft.

The model shapes have been taken from the actual lines drawings, so are accurate in scale to each other.

Mounted on a 400 x 500mm sized framed canvas back board, i have carefully added the odd detail [rubbing strakes, cabin window frames, and carved in stemheads  etc], just to give them a touch of life, than being flat.

The large boatyard pennants are of pastel paper, with watercolour added in to help give an oldy world touch, as too with the Class info plates, i penned in with a fine lines pen, as was back then by designers.

The difference between the design in the large pennants and small ones, show the original 1930s design [small], to the more recent design [large].

Been fun doing this of something basic though different for a change.

Onto the next model boat project

Cheers All
Paul
