I wish to charge my boat battery installed in my boat without removing it or disconnecting it.
Will the diagram do this

That looks like it would work.
However be sure to open up the model so air can circulate while you charge.
The battery, Gel Cell or sealed lead acid, will vent hydrogen while charging.
If the hydrogen is trapped into the boat, and your motors spark, it is an explosive combination.
A friends submarine detonated twice, before he figured out what was happening. :o

Your arrangement of an SPST will work but relies on memory and a normal way might be to use a SPDT switch with three connections: Connect the centre pole to your ESC, then connect one side to the battery and the other side to your charging jack. Thay way it's one or the other -forget to switch-off when it's on charge and it won't charge, forget to switch-on to run the model and it won't run. Not really any way of cross connection.
....no comment on charging in place or removing. Both are perfectly valid as long as basics are followed.

I have always charged my SLA batteries in the boats. Never a problem. Like Umi says, give 'em air while charging.

And has happened twice that I know of at our group, by the same person %% %% some years back, saw them with the back end of the sub in their hand ..
