Title: 8 channel plus, transmitter/Receiver setup
Post by: Rottweiler on December 06, 2021, 12:09:02 pm

Hi,
I am looking for a 2.4ghz Transmitter / Receiver set up please, of at least 8 channels.
What are your recommendations please, and I don't mind second hand. Whichever, I need it reasonably priced please. Thanks. Mick

I have been using a RadioLink T8FB for a while. It is a cheap system, but has proven reliable so far. I have paired the Tx with several R8EF receivers in different boats. I have only used the system in PWM mode. You can upgrade the firmware from the RadioLink website and download an APP (I think it may only be Android) to configure the Tx on your phone if you want.

Give a thought to the RadioMaster T16, Open source.

Second hand Futaba, been using them for 50 odd years on and off, never had a problem,

i purchased a futaba T6K V2 couple of months ago. The V2 is 8 channel (not 6!)

Brilliant TX.. it comes supplied with the 6 channel receiver so if you want 8 you would need to buy the receiver separately or speak to the model shop and see if they will do you some sort of deal if you could swap the 6 channel receiver for the 8 channel one?

Also has Futaba SBUS technology which if you are not familiar with, allows you to connect multiple servos in a "Daisy Chain" from one channel and allows you to program each servo independently via the TX its self (no separate module/program needed!), so even though the TX is 8 channel, in theory it can be much more. But for this your servos need to be Futaba SBUS compatible!

but all in all, great piece of kit & you know with Futaba you are getting quality & reliability which is the main reason i bought Futaba, yes, you pay more, but its worth it for that piece of mind :)
