I am in need of two small speed controllers for brushed motors, one is for a daughter boat I am building and another needs to sit under a Carson truck trailer to operate the ramps, I saw these and wondered is anyone has any experience of them?

Not those ones specifically but have used similar ones in the past, they seemed to be OK for intermittent running, but got hot and cut out after continuous running for any length of time
Probably be fine in the trailer but would be wary as motive power for a model boat

Thanks folks, appreciate the replies, I will go for the eBay ones as the one in the daughter boat will only be used rarely
/short durations and needs to sit in the wheelhouse.

I use the Ebay ones regularly for small motors up to 380 size in small models. Never had any problems with overheating. There are a number of versions, some with brake, some 10amp and some 20 amp. Both look the same. I wouldn't trust the 20 amp rating. :o

For a boat you don't want a braked controller. Is it switchable?

Hi Russel the ebay ones you mention I have used before and have two in use now. I am using about 2 amps and expect they would run up to 4 or 5 but no more. Switching the brake was mentioned. There is an extremely small switch which gets rid of the brake.
You may want to buy some ready made leads as the esc uses the Rx. 4.8 volt connectors they are cheap 2 pin and polarised.
They do not get warm at all which surprised me, so I just tuck them out of sight. There is a built in BEC circuit as well for Rx power. and a wired in switch. N.B. the brake switch is on the edge of the pcb. Seem to work fine on 7.2 volts which is what I use.
Can only recommend them, as after trying I bought some more but I only paid £2.50 each for mine.

Perfectly good escs, for 280 dize motors. These were originally marketed as 10 amp, and are now rated as 30. As suggested before, i normally go with 5 amp max. I have a couple in plastic kit conversions.
In fact, Ron Deans Stab boat was running on one at his open day! His original esc packed up and i gave him one of these to make it run
