Title: Club Insurance
Post by: destroyer42 on May 19, 2022, 04:48:44 pm
Hi All,
This topic may have come up before, but those people who are members of modelling boat clubs, should have public liability insurance, currently our club is being quoted nearly £600 for insurance and contents of the club house, club house is insured by the council as we rent it from them.
What do other clubs pay and who do they use, do you think the above charges are rather steep?

Hi there. I would suggest a call to Protectivity Insurance on 01494 887909. We insure with them and have £10M of Public Liability cover. If you want to include cover for the contents of the building you use, then obviously the impact this will have on the premium is very dependent on the value you give the contents and the risk factor. We pay less than £200 yearly with a limit on 50 members.Hope this helps.Steve Dean, Chairman, Great Yarmouth MBC

The MPBA (model power boat association) will give you £10 million public liability per member, however it will not cover a club house and contents, Walker Midgley insurance maybe able to help, I am sure other members of this forum have even more information, as we all know insurance is a very grey area, so check and check again..... My boat club and rc truck club both use Stamp Insurance Services, based in Exeter.
