With deep regret the Committee of the Model Boat Convention have taken the decision to terminate the Association with the residual proceeds, in accordance with the Constitution being donated to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
Attendance at the shows of both traders and modellers had declined over the years and the advent of Covid has led to the winding up of the Model Boat Convention.
May we thank those who competed, those who acted as stewards all the years and those who attended as visitors.
All the very best to you all for the future

Model boat shows are an endangered species.

I and Kirklees M B C enjoyed this event for many years the standard of models on display was always very high. The social side of the event was also a big player many new friends made during this event. One must not forget the team behind the scenes the traders and the clubs that made this event very popular. Sadly many commercials shows may never rise from the effects of Covid and our aging model builders. :(( :(( :(( :(( :(( :(( :((
