Post by: Mr Johnty on July 26, 2022, 05:47:32 pm
 Hi From Bury in Lancashire.
Very new to boat building ie never done one before i Had RC cars a few years ago.
So i went stright in at the deep end and bought my self rather nice Occre Ulises Tug 1:30 (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204047018511) only opend the box this weekend.
Looking forward to starting it not sure if it is a little bit to big a job for my first go time will tell. Im getting a little ahead of my self thinking about colours already lol.
Does anyone have any opinions good or bad on the Ulises?
John.

Welcome to the mad house oops forum.

Most model kits can be successfully built if you read the instructions (several tmes) and take things steady. Concentrate on what you're doing and not on what comes next (that way lies brain ache).

Any questions just post them here.
Good luck and enjoy yourself

Hello Dogal99Thanks for your warm welcome.I have no intentions of rushing the build it looks very complicated. Not looking forward to doing the hull planking it looks quite hard to do {:-{ but i think with a little time i will get there.might have to call on the vast modeling knowledge of the forum for help a few times along the way.

One of our local members made this as his first model boat.
He took his time, asked for advice and made a rather good model.

Welcome Mr Johnty
Lots of help here, my only advice is......read the instructions, and have lots of patience and don't rush, or guess what..... you will be redoing it (and in my case several times  {-) )

There is a good club in Bury and one of the forum members, Slinger, is the secretary. They sail at Clarence Park Lido usually on Sunday mornings. I am sure they would be most welcoming should you have any questions with your build.
