Title: Model Tamar
Post by: Ted_H on November 13, 2007, 04:31:49 pm
I've been out of the model boat scene for a while now, maybe a bit too long. Or maybe I've just been waiting for the right subject to come along !
However the new Tamar lifeboat has wet my appetite and I'd like to explore the possibilities of building one.
Is there a hull or kit available yet, or  if not does anyone have plans.
I have seen mention on here of plans from the RNLI, but how do I go about getting plans from them. I don't see a link on their web site and google hasn't thrown anything up.

Thanks .....a long adrift boater !

Hi Ted,

We will have a full kit of Tamar at 1:16 scale this time next year.  Model length: 1 m. exactly.  Grp hull and deck, styrene s/structure, etched brass etc etc.

Regards
Jackie

Hi Jackie
So good to hear from you after such a long time, hope you an Laurie are both well.
I'd be most interested in your forthcoming model, and if the quality of your previous models is anything to go by  it should be an exciting project.
I'll be in touch via your website email

Ted

Hi Ted.
A 1/12th scale hull and wheelhouse complete with separate stern door and deck hatches is available from Speedline Models now.  It will be a kit shortly but windows and some fittings are available now also.
See www.speedline-models.com
