I agree with Stavros....looks TID'y, but not a TID. Too short and stern too square at the wrong part if you get my meaning.
Oh and Stavros....the kids came visiting this afteroon and were over the moon at the boats, all went abck to school to decide on names for the boats.  O0

It looks more like an old canal tug to me, not in a million years is it a TID. The hull is flat with no deck sheer.

Built by farmers? Bullet holes??  Needs a "bit of welding here and there"????  Come on - show some compassion for this Optimist of the Century, supply him with more of whatever substance he's inhaling, tell him what a TID was and then wait for the tinworms to stop holding hands and the whole pile of rust and mud to disintegrate.     :D

On the other hand, surely there must be some Action Group ready to start a Save-the-(alleged)TID campaign?

TIDs. He came across several 'official' versions to explain the letters T.I.D.
and many others since:-
Towing Invasion Duties
Tug Invasion Duty
Tug Inshore Defence
Tug Inshore Duties
Tug Inshore and Dock
Tug In Dock
Tug Intermediate Design
Tug Inland Distribution
Temporary Invasion Design
- or just nicknamed "Tiddler" in the shipyard.
