Looks good Kingfisher :-)

I was at Andy's on Wednesday and picked up my Cygnus too. Identical to yours, except mine's blue.

I'm looking for a real boat to base the model on now (preferably a lobster boat).

thanks DaveB i have just started on the hulland trimming the deck as a start what is the prefered method to fit it down and how far down the inside should the deck be .
I have the timber capping strip ,beech i think and i dont want to fit the deck too high or low.
I have not seen too many pic's of that type apart from whats on Andy's web site did you cut free-ports ,what size and how many.
so many questions sorry :).

Portside i fitted the deck level with the bottom of the rubbing strake and only put in a couple of freeing ports there does'nt seem to be any set amount, it may be worth having a look on the cygnus website. I bought the teak capping from Andy and used several coats of oil instead of varnish. Andy now does a deck with a watertight hatch as i had an older model i built a normal hatch with coaming but big enough to take a 12v 7amp battery. When you fit the deck be careful that its not to tight a fit or the wheelhouse will be too tight.

Hi the hull is the orignal gel coat out the mould gunwhales are sprayed with two pack paint. She is now finished need to get some photos up on here now but not sure how to do it i run a 65mm prop and an mfa 850 motor belt drive 2.1 reduction i have gone bigger on the prop but seems better on this setup an 800 would be better as less revs .

had some info from Andy the other day ,he recomends the largest prop you can fit , so it's a 80mm 4 blade raboche .
and the torquiest motor ,i intend to fit a metro fan motor as it's slow and torquy .
the only other thing is the shaft ,if i fit the motor to the prop then the shaft will be about 15" long  if thats the case then i will prob fit two shafts and two universal coupling's .
